From Chapter Seven ~ "Oh, Those Precious Prodigal Children" - page 35 "If you are one of those children who grew up watching the hypocrites at work in your church and maybe even in your family, let me take this moment with you. There are a lot of cannibals out there. But that's nothing new. And it's no excuse. The admonitions we read from the Word were written to the brand new baby Church. They're written to people who were called Christians for the first time in all of history; they were excited about Jesus. Many of them sat on the grassy hillside by the Galilee. They listened to Him speak from the heart of God. Some of them had been touched and miraculously healed. Some of them had eaten the bread that was multiplied instantaneously as Jesus blessed it and the disciples served it. Some of them watched as the dead were raised and the demons cast out of those who had been oppressed by the devil. Some had been in the crowd that cried out, 'Crucify Him!' and they had seen Him humiliated, beaten, His face marred until it was unrecognizable. Some of them also saw the Resurrected Jesus, Who overcame death, hell and the grave. They had literally seen the nail scars in His hands. Yet they still needed to be warned about their behavior and their attitudes. They were the ones who had to be told to stop picking on each other." ***** This is a hard-hitting plea to all those who have "been there and done the church thing" and don't have any intention of going back for more. It challenges those who want to believe that what God says is true. It throws out a blanket of love, wooing 'whosoever will' to come in and receive. It's out to separate the real from the phony. It's ready to toss religion ~ and introduce the reader to a reality check: a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe."
Readers Comments "After reviewing the practical applications in this manuscript, my husband and I plan to send copies and recommend it as part of the curriculum for Bible Colleges and Seminaries where pastors graduate each spring." - Pastor Carl and Betty Malz ****** "As usual, you speak the truth! When my husband returned from a trip, I handed him your book, which he sat and read from beginning to end. He was so convinced that God spoke to him through you that we RAN back to church this Sunday. If you knew how long it has been since we worshipped in a church, you would weep. I felt like a starving person at a banquet table. Thank you for writing from your heart. I believe God used you to chase us back into His arms." *** "Just finished your book, "We're Not All Cannibals!" To be honest with you, the title turned me off, but I pushed through and read it. I've had some of my friends read it and they're very much in agreement with me. We give it ten thumbs up! Once I started it, I couldn't put it down!" ****** "Just finished 'Cannibals!' Wow! Loved it. So many areas touched my core. I want to give copies to my pastor and his wife. As for me, I had been praying to stir that 'first love' back in me. In reading these beautiful books I'm on my way back and believe our Jesus had me get these books at just the right time." ****** "I don't know what I was expecting, but this one stepped all over my toes!
